Burman and Edge Battle Again in Millar

Mike Callway

Millar College

Saturday night saw a rematch of the games just 3 days before as the Edge once again hosted the Burman Bobcats. The women’s game was up first and the Bobcats were looking right off the bat to avenge their 1 point loss from the game before. The Bobcats came out strong with an early lead and never looked back, winning the game 71 - 64 and tying up the season series. Ashley Volkman came away with the player of the game for the Edge.

The men’s game started off completely different than their first meeting as it was the Edge men that started taking it to the Bobcats. The teams traded baskets for the first quarter before the Bobcats found a lead mid way through the second. The edge made things close late as they brought it within 10 points but the Bobcats pulled away again, and this time for good, winning 104-86. Starting point guard Ben Friesen was elected the player of the game for the edge after a strong performance.

The teams do not have to wait long for another rematch as the Edge head to Alberta this coming Thursday to play 2 games versus the Bobcats. This will come on the heels of a Wednesday night tilt with the Briercrest Clippers in Pambrun
