The 3rd installment of the PAC Battle of Saskatchewan happened last night as the Briercrest Clippers travelled to Pambrun to play against the Millar Edge for the 3rd time this season. The women came in with each team having won one game whereas the Millar men were still searching for their first win against the Clippers.
The women’s game got started off with a bang as Millar stormed out into the lead and found themselves up by 5 after the first quarter. The Edge ladies then put their foot on the gas to start the second quarter and went on a 12-0 run to lead 43-20 at half. That was all they needed as they coasted to a 64-51 victory to go up in the season series 2-1. Holly Doerksen had 8 points and a huge defensive effort to come away with the player of the game for the Edge.

The men picked up where the ladies left off as both teams came out ready to play. Teams went back and forth for the first quarter and the Edge found themselves up 17-15. Just as the ladies had done, the Edge Men had their best game in the second quarter as they went on a 30-14 run to go up by 18 at the half. The Clippers made a late charge but it wasn’t enough to overcome the 1st half deficit and the Millar Men picked up the win 73-65. Cody Hickle stepped up in a major way for the Edge with major defensive play and earned player of the game honours for the Edge.

The teams finish the 4th and final installment of their season series next Wednesday back in Caronport before PAC finals in Pambrun the following weekend.
