This past weekend Millar played host to the visiting Burman Bobcats. The Bobcats were coming in as one of the forces of the league and the Edge were excited for the challenge.
The ladies started off on Friday afternoon and though the Edge were able to keep it close, the Bobcats were back to their impressive form as they won in 3 straight 25-18, 25-23, 25-23.
The men followed and it was the reverse on their side as Millar was the team that came out of the gate hot and won the first set with a wide margin of 25 -17. Burman responded with a couple of close sets to finish out the match just falling short at 26-24, 26-24, to give the Edge the 3 set victory.

Saturday night, these two teams met again, with the Ladies again stating things off. Things continued their back and forth pace that had been set the day before as the teams split the first two sets, Burman winning set 1 - 25-19, the Edge responding in set 2 - 25-18. After that, the Bobcats started to role and could not be stopped finishing out the match 25-17, 25-21 to give them the two game weekend sweep over the Edge. A highlight saw Swift Currents own Leah Janzen receiving players of the game honours for her stellar play from the serving line and at the net!
The men’s contest did not follow the pattern of the day before as this one went the distance. Millar started off strong winning the first set 25-19. Burman resounded with two victories in a row winning 25 - 20, and 25 - 22. The Edge, with their backs against the wall came out in the fourth set swinging and it paid off, winning 25 - 14 setting up the fifth and deciding set in which the Edge were able to secure the 15-8 victory, winning the set and the match.
