The Prairie Pilots women’s basketball team had a mid-week thriller versus the Lady Bobcats from Burman University on Wednesday, February 20th. These provincial rivals had met once before and it was the Pilots who had the commanding victory. Unfortunately for Burman, Wednesday’s game was no different as the Pilots offense was too much for them to handle. The Pilots were triumphant, winning 61-39.
Prairie’s big guns were on fire again as captain Sierra Nelson and freshman Sarah Harken lead the way, combining for 42 of Prairie’s 61 points. The quick pace of the Pilots offense put Burman on their heels which caused them take too many fouls. The Pilots made them pay, scoring more than a quarter of their overall points from the free-throw line.
The Pilots women’s basketball team looks to continue their dominate season as they head out on the road for their next three games (twice at Millar, once at Burman) before closing off the season with three home games back-to-back-to-back on March 21-23.
