Strong Early Showing For Millar Edge

The weekend of September 28 & 29 played host to some early season PAC Volleyball at Prairie College. Three teams from the women’s division battled at the RDAC in Three Hills over the two days while on the men’s side there was only the one game, Prairie Pilots versus Millar Edge.

On Friday night, the Pilots ladies took on Great Plains College Sundogs. This was quite a back-and-forth event but after five long sets it was the Sundogs who defeated the home team. The final scores from each set were: S1: 25-22 Prairie, S2: 25-21 Great Plains, S3: 25-18 Great Plains, S4: 25-14 Prairie, S5: 15-10 Great Plains.

Saturday started early with the Pilots mens team playing against Millar Edge. While the Pilots team were the top team last year during the regular season it was Millar who were dominate in this game, winning the match in just three sets. Pilots coach Marcus Hirch was pleased with his team’s effort however understands there needs to be more energy on the court from his guys. Finals from each set were as follows: S1: 25-7 Millar, S2: 25-11 Millar, S3: 25-20 Millar.

Also on Saturday the Pilots women faced off against Millar Edge's ladies. Again the victory went to Millar College of the Bible, defeating Prairie in three sets, with a close call in the third set. S1: 25-15 Millar, S2: 25-14 Millar, S3: 28-26 Millar.
